Research Interests:
Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry
Our research emphasizes the analysis of proteins in relation to their function. Research efforts are directed towards the development and application of analytical protocols for the structural and functional characterization of proteins and their interaction with other biomolecules. As part of these efforts we focus on the use of mass spectrometric techniques and their combination with chemical approaches and modern (micro) separation techniques. Our research projects emphasize a) proteomics, i.e. the mass spectrometry-based characterization of proteins and peptides including their post-translational modifications and b) mass spectrometry-enabled conformational and non-covalent interaction studies of proteins and protein complexes using hydrogen/deuterium exchange approaches.
